Have you ever had a time that you wondered, why am I even listening to this person? Or, maybe you wonder if you should always be listening to everyone who has something to say.

In this article, we’re going to talk about who not to listen to when it comes to your own life and why their opinion just doesn’t matter!

Today’s topic is who not to listen to!

First things first, we should always be listening.

Life and the people we meet in life are always randomly handing us nuggets of wisdom that we can use to better ourselves.

I’ve gotten great advice from CEOs of million dollar companies as well as the janitor of the local school.

You see wisdom knows no job title.

However, there are a few times in life where it may be best not to listen to someone.

Here they are!

When someone says something out of hate!

Listen, when we say things out of hate, we are not in our right mind.

I don’t know about you but when I think about things I’ve said out of hate, they sound stupid. I know I wouldn’t even listen to my own words in those moments.

So, why listen to others.

Words that are rooted in hate will never grow into a lush green forest of good in the world.

Another time to pause your listening ability.

If the person themselves are not where you are trying to get to.

Why would you listen to a set of direction to Boston if you were trying to get to Houston Texas? You wouldn’t!

So why should you listen to someone give you advice on how to get somewhere if they themselves have not walked the journey themselves.

My dad uses to say never judge a man until you’ve walked a mile in his moccasins.

A little strange since were not American Indian but, I would even say that I want to know where those moccasins have been and am I even trying to get there.

If so, my ears are wide open and listening mode is engaged.

Here’s another great reason not to listen.

Stop listening when they say you can’t do it or it can’t be done. Just because it’s out of their range of belief doesn’t mean it’s out of yours.

The 4-minute mile, a horsiness carriage, a man Walking in the moon yep, all impossible. Heck, light without fire and the device you’re using to watch this video, all use to be impossible thoughts.

So many things have not been possible before at least until they have been achieved.

So make sure others disbelief doesn’t weaken your belief.

Last but not least.

Stop listening when they say you are or are not something.

How do they know?
Do they know the future?
Do they have ESP?

Most likely the answer to that question is. NO!

What words have you heard that changed your life?
Let me know in the comments below.

So to sum this all up …

Always be listening for words of wisdom but, be careful that they are exactly that, words of wisdom, words of growth, words of positivity.

Make sure those words are coming from where you want to go and from someone who is delivering them with love!

Make sure you share these words with someone you think needs to hear them. Keep striving to be a happy, helpful, human, and I’ll see you in the next article!
