Let me just start by saying this is a bit of a rant. Not in a negative way but simply a way to get some feelings out that I am trying to manage at the moment.

As I watch so many people around me navigate life, there are several mindsets that I’m not sure if I agree with or not.

I don’t think I do.

But,let me just continue on.

I’m not saying I don’t agree with them 90% of the time on other beliefs. Heck, many of these folks I love to death! But, why have these couple things been able to creep into so many people’s mindsets?

It’s Just Society

If you allow yourself to believe society is just society, then wouldn’t you feel helpless?

This would mean that we live in a world that we can not change. We would be powerless. It’s so hard for me to fathom that type of thinking.

I believe we have the power and strength to change and control things inside and around us. Is just saying “it’s society” a cop out? Or, is it just another valid line of thinking? And, how much does this thinking connect to a victim vs. victor mentality.

Okay, maybe this isn’t a rant. Maybe it’s me asking the universe a bunch of questions.

Zero to One Hundred in Two Seconds

Why do people (sometimes myself) allow ourselves to get so mad so quickly? I of course am not talking about when big struggles of life hit. I can understand getting mad when someone dies, gets cancer, breaks a limb, loses a job, I’m sure you get it.

I’m talking about huge things that change what you thought your day, month, or even year(s) would look like.

But the little things? Really?

Is it that important? Are we that important?

Or, is this a case of not being self aware or aware of those around us?

Again, I fall into his trap as well some times. Nobody’s perfect.

Please don’t be mistaken, I’m not judging anyone right now. I’m simply curious if anyone else wonders about these common mindsets in our society or if I’m the only one?

The Other Side

I believe that nothing has to stay the same.

I believe that trajectories (directions) can be changed.

I believe we have the power to change the things around us and in us.

The power to change outcomes of events by the actions we take before, during, and after those events. I believe that like Gary Vee says honey beats vinegar every time.

I believe what you put into the world is what you get back.

Are there any others out there like me?

Am I crazy? Has our culture really gotten to the point of no return?

What are your thoughts? Let me know below.
