I had a conversation the other day that made me stop in my tracks.
I was talking about goals and what had been accomplished and what was planned for the future.
Then this statement was made by an older person in the conversation.
You can have dreams at your age.
What did that even mean?
I understand that life can hand a person tons of crappy situations over time. But, could it hand out so much that the ability to dream and set goals completely disappears?
I hope not.
In this situation, it seems as it had.
I sat and listened as my wife talked about faith and trust.
I heard my own words talking about all the possibilities that we had if crazy stuff happened in our life.
Try as we might it seems we did not make a dent in changing that thought process.
Of course, we never really know.
The rest of that evening my head was spinning on this subject.
Dreaming and goals for me is a key factor of who I am and where I have gone in life.
Would I lose them as I got older?
As I laid my head down on the pillows for a long night sleep, I thought well at least I can stop thinking about this now.
As soon as I woke up I was reminded of the conversation and my sadness towards it.
I am not usually an emotional guy but this was causing a disturbance in the force.
I talked to my wife and expressed what was going on in my head and then said to her, lets never stop dreaming.
Let’s always set new goals and try to achieve them.Let's always set new goals and try to achieve them. #DreamBigClick To Tweet
She agreed and we set off on our day.
Now, to you the reader. If you have lost the ability to dream and set goals please understand that life is never over.
You can always redefine who you are.
I love this Gary Vee video because it reminds us of this.
Always set goals. Always dream. Always realize this life is what “you” make it.
Make your life the best life it can be no matter how old you are.
Surround yourself with the right people. Good people.
Know who you are.
Be your best you.
Set your goals and follow your dreams.
Live a journey that is always exciting.
